Client: Coyboy Now – Brett Carlson
Project Details: On March 4, 1996, Brett Carlson was led down the ramp of a San Francisco American Airlines terminal in a wheelchair. He had just survived two weeks trapped in a man made snow cave during one of the worst storms to have punished the tip of South America, and the Patagonia region, in over 100 years.
I had the privilege to work with Brett on the cover for the book he wrote about his experience. He was interested in a simple, straight-forward yet impactful look for the cover. We intentionally kept a minimal color palette to highlight the symbolic mountain journey about struggle and change while using the color red to represent the strength, power and determination to survive.
